GANGTOK:1st July:Sikkim State BJP has expressed concern over an alleged terrorist radicalising local youth through financial incentives.
‘The recent arrest of an individual affiliated with a terrorist organization from Gangtok is a stark wake-up call for Sikkim. For a state built on a foundation of peace, harmony, and tranquil co-existence, this incident strikes at the very heart of our identity.’
‘Investigations have revealed a deeply concerning breach: the accused was in active contact with a terror outfit for several years, conducting surveillance on Indian Army camps and strategic border forces, and transmitting sensitive data. Shockingly, this individual was also actively attempting to radicalize local youth through financial incentives.’
‘BJP Sikkim extends its deepest gratitude and highest commendations to the security agencies and the Sikkim Police. Their swift, flawless intervention averted what could have been a catastrophic situation. National security and the safety of Sikkim’s citizens remain our absolute, non-negotiable priority.’
BJP has , urgently called for the following measures:
:Heightened State Vigilance: We request the Police Department and state security apparatus to significantly step up monitoring, particularly at all border checkposts, to neutralize infiltration risks.
Mandatory Tenant Verification: We urge all house owners to immediately submit tenant verification forms to their nearest police station.’
Citizen Alertness: appealed to every resident of Sikkim to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
Sikkim’s peace is our collective responsibility. Together, we will protect our motherland, according to BJP Sikkim, Spokesperson Sangay Gyatso Bhutia.
