Gangtok: 24th Oct: His Holiness ,the17th Karmapa,Ogyen Trinley Dorjee is scheduled to do the consecration ceremony of 108 Knowledge Stupas,( Jangchub Chortens), at Gelegphu , Mindfulness City, Bhutan ( it appears to be something to be recorded in G Book of World Records),he will be accompanied by at least 59 eminent spiritual leader monks from abroad and many leaders from Bhutan itself.Karmapa is scheduled to reach Bhutan on 29th Oct. and depart on 7th Nov.
The Chortens are 15 ft high ,each. It is an initiative of the King of Bhutan.The mega religious function coincides with ‘ descending day of Buddha from Heaven to the earth and Coronation anniversary of the King.
Devotees from Sikkim are all set to visit Bhutan for darshan!
