New Delhi:10th Oct:’The Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) joined the protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi against the Election Commission of India (ECI), expressing solidarity with the growing public demand for accountability, transparency, and the protection of democratic values,’ informs party.
According to SDF party ,’At present, public discontent with the functioning of the Election Commission of India is growing across the country. Allegations concerning the misuse of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), vote theft, and difficulties faced by citizens during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls have raised serious concerns about the fairness, transparency, and credibility of the electoral process.’
Party informa further ,’Concerns have also been raised regarding the pressure and stress associated with the SIR process, which have reportedly taken a severe toll on election officials, with some cases of alleged suicide drawing national attention. These developments have intensified public debate and contributed to growing demands for accountability and reforms in the electoral system.’
