Gangto: 2nd Nov 2022 :⁹For the first time in the history of Sikkim, Sikkim Newar Guthi (SNG) celebrated its 31st Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and unity at Newari Bhawan, Barpipal, Gangtok.
The celebration was graced by N.B. Pradhan, Chairman, Advisory Council (SNG), as the Chief Guest, along with several distinguished dignitaries and members from various parts of the state.
The program commenced with Deep Prajwalan and a welcome address by the Vice President of SNG, followed by vibrant Newari cultural performances that reflected the rich heritage and traditions of the Newar community.
During the ceremony, certificates with cash prizes were awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners of the Cultural, Dhimey, and Newa Lipi Competitions. In addition, ten participants of the Lakhey performance during Indrajatra Celebration 2025 received special recognition.
