Gangtok 1st Nov : Women Child Senior Citizen & Divyangjan Welfare Department conducted two days training program , in collaboration with the ARPAN, a Mumbai based NGO on “Basic Counselling techniques “- to Strengthen Frontline Response for victims of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA). ARPAN is a globally recognized award-winning nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating CSA in India, with a vision that states: “A World free of Child Sexual Abuse”.
Around 45 functionaries working under the Mission Vatsalya Scheme across the state attended the training. The training was headed by Joint Secretary-Mission Vatsalya Scheme Ms. Manisha Cintury and the key Resource persons were Ms. Nishita Shetty and Ms. Neha Maru, Trainers and Counsellors from ARPAN.
Different topics related to Child Sexual Abuse including Psychological First Aid, Trauma Response and Neurobiology of children, Skills and Techniques of effective Counselling, Case Study and Role Playing was covered productively in the training sessions.
