Digital Media Policy in the process: Annapurna Secy IPR
Gangtok,Secretary to Govt of Sikkim,IPR, Annapurna Alley’ has disclosed to the relief of many who appreciate news – but not concocted stories,that Information and Publicity Deptt has already drafted the Digital media policy.
‘Digital media policy has gone to IT Deptt ,it will be subsequently forwarded to the Law Deptt for their part ‘, said Secy.
Speaking On role media in countering Fake News , Secretary said ,’Major issue is fake news.Media houses are not checking facts.There are many techniques through which it can be checked.The objective of reporting is to get facts to people.’
As far as the role of media is concerned she opined, ‘ media can teach people how to know if the news is fake or fact based . Secy Alley was speaking as a panelist at the media Workshop hosted by PIB at Gangtok.
