Tihar Jail Delhi :An Ideal Prison -Vijaya Rahatkar Chairperson NCW
Not many personalities visit prisons to take stock of condition of inmates ,that too of women.But,Chairperson National Commission for Women ,with the aim to find out and about the women prisoners ,their living conditions, rehabilitation welfare visited Tihar Jail.
After visiting cells of females,creche facilities,fashion lab, sewing training centre,digital learning room,kitchen,entertainment facilities and medical consultation room,she has remarked that ‘Tihar is an ideal prison from the approach of prison reforms. ‘
Chairperson Rajatkar stresses on ensuring dignity, safety,mental health and rehabilitation opportunity.Once concerned State authorities also draw inspiration from national chairperson the improvement is certain.
