Gangtok:18th Oct: The Bar Association having submitted a memorandum to President of India ,has appealed for deferral of Swearing in ceremony of Governor designate Dushyant Kumar Gautam. The sweating- in is scheduled for 19th October, here.
The association has said, ‘ Appeal to President of India , ( may like to ) immediately to direct the deferral and postponement of swearing -in ceremony scheduled for tomorrow.Keep the warrant of appointment in abeyance till the controversy surrounding the Ankita Bhandari case is fully resolved and Governor designate’s name is conclusively cleared by competitive investigating authority.’
The Bar Association has said they have nothing against anyone. Its only dignity of office that they have requested for it.They have also referred to ‘ unrest’ in the peaceful State of Sikkim.
The BAS has also submitted copies of the memorandum to the Prime Minister,Home Minister ,Chief Minister of Sikkim and the Chief Secretary.
