Gangtok20th Aug :A huge confusion has been arising in town due to recent steps by a Govt deptt Unexpectedly the UDD has asked certain business establishments to renew their licences at UDD.
According to sources till now they have been regularly renewing licences at GMC .
In one of the cases the establishment has already renewed licence this year also paying Rs +29999.But some of the officers from the deptt have been pressing to renew,pay again.
They have been claiming that as per Trade & Miscellaneous Licences renewal Act 2011 the fee needs to be paid to UDD.But since so far payments were accepted ,the affected say they could kindly ask from next year
But question has arisen if GMC is not allowed to renew will they be doing so since 2011?Never ! As far as the affected are concerned,they say GMC is very honest establishment.Besides there is no such notification sent to establishments to stop paying to GMC,
even if they claim having rules.
Now it is apprehended either to be a problem by some claiming to be UDD,or a very responsible deptt emerging out of slumber!
