Gangtok:16th May: Chief Minister of Sikkim , PS Tamang , welcomed Vice President and thanked him for accepting invitation for 51st Statehood Day Celebrations here. ‘ He is the first VP to travel from Bagdogra to Gangtok by road. We are really grateful, ‘ said CM. He was addressing the gathering at Manam Kendra , here today.
CM presented a Lepcha hand woven traditional hat to Vice President CP Radhakrishna.
Subsequently CM accompanied the Vice President ,C. P. Radhakrishnan , to the Orchidarium at Swarnajayanti Maitreya Manjari, Ridge Park.
According to CM ,’The visit offered a meaningful opportunity to showcase Sikkim’s extraordinary natural heritage and our collective commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.’
CM Tamang shared ,’As we walked through the Orchidarium, home to a remarkable collection of rare and indigenous orchid species, the Vice President expressed deep appreciation for the rich biodiversity of our Himalayan state and the continued efforts being undertaken to preserve and promote it for future generations.’
