Gangtok:18th May:Chief Electoral Officer RajKumar Yadav convened a meeting with Political parties and invited media also,on Monday.Special Intensive Revision,aims to remove duplicate, dead and foreign electors, improving quality of electoral rolls.
‘2002 was the last SIR so it has been taken as the base yearl. BLOs will be visiting house to house from 30th May to 28th May ’26.They will give relevant form already half filled , to the elector, to fill up and hand over to the BLO. If any elector is not there during BLOs visit , he will put up a sticker and the voter will be expected to meet before 20th June, ‘ said CEO Sikkim ,Raj Kumar Yadav, here today.
‘Those originally residents of the constituency,father mother and his/ her name is recorded in the roll of 2002 ,they do not have to submit documents.But those not on the list of 2002 have to submit . Draft electoral rolls will be published on 5th July 26.Objections and claims can be filed from 5th July to 4 th August 26 . Disposal of claims and objections would be started simultaneously but will continue till 2nd September 26.Final electoral rolls will be published on 6th September 2026,’ stated CEO RK Yadav IAS.NN
