CT: I am a Jeweller by profession.Scheduled Caste Committee decided to confer Pratibha Samman for shilpkala.receiving the honour from C.M is a great moment of pride.I am proud to be selected and given recognition for my skills and sincerity.My parents had started the business.They passed away during my childhood,our elder sister Bal Kumari brought us up and educated.She even carried forward the business.
I have a shop in Naya Bazar,Tiruwa Jewellers.
DM: How were you inspired and by whom?
CT: I drew inspiration from my father Lt Til Bahadur Tiruwa and mother Lt Tulasi Devi,who were very passionate about it .
DM: What type of designs do you make?
CT:We make all Nepali design ornaments.The important ornaments include Tilhari,Naugeri,Pote ,Kantha,Phuli,Bulaki,Dhungari and some on order also.
DM: Do you have young and modern customers,also or only middle aged and old wear Nepali designs?
CT: Youngsters,yes! They have been following culture and love our traditional designs also.
DM: Do people wear Tilhari on their wedding? Are there different types of it?
CT: Yes! people buy Tilhari for their marriage .It is a symbol of married . It has one and the same design.Only the way its worn is different.Some wear it with strings of Pote some Pearls and some any other.
DM: Finally please share your furure Anything that you aspire to do.
CT. I have a strong desire to start a small institute,if I get some financial sipport from the Govt.I want to train younger generation . Craftsmanship is of great importance wirhin the contry and abroad also.Its not always good to keep on waiting for Govt job,instead better to have some pvt business!So its my appeal to Govt for support ( End)
