Gangtok/ Siliguri: MP Darjeeling , Raju Bista participated in the grand 212th Bhanu Jayanti celebrations, organized by Bhanu Jayanti celebrations committee at Dinabandhu Manch, Siliguri .He paid tributes to the pioneer poet and addressed the gathering.
‘ Bhanu Jayanti is an occasion when we remember every year the incredible contribution the Poet made to establish the Nepali language as the language of the people, and today we express our gratitude to him ,’ said MP.
‘Since the Nepali language is the basis of our identity, self-esteem and unity, we have the need and challenge both to use it more widely in education, administration, communication, court, technology and digital mediums. It is necessary for all concerned people to work together towards practically making the recognition obtained by Nepali language in the eighth schedule of the Constitution.’
MP Bista said further, ‘today’s young generation should fulfill their responsibility to expand the access of Nepali language around the world through using new thinking, creation and technology in Nepali language. Schools, colleges and various social and cultural institutions need to move further actively in the preservation and promotion of language, literature and culture.’
