MP Lok Sabha Indra Hang Subba Accompanies Parliamentary Committee on Subordinate Legislation to Nathula Border

Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Indra Hang Subba accompanied the distinguished members of the Parliamentary Committee on Subordinate Legislation on an official visit to the Nathula Sino-Indian Border in Eastern Sikkim. The visit led by Committee Chairman Milind Deora, MP Rajya Sabha, formed a vital part of the Committee’s engagement with matters pertaining to Border Personnel Affairs and regional security.
The delegation was led on-ground by Brigadier Amit Sharma, who coordinated the visit and provided strategic insights. At the Nathula border outpost, the members were briefed in detail about the current ground situation and the region’s historic relevance by Captain Rishab Chauhan. His address highlighted stories of valour, national service, and the significant geopolitical role of the Nathula corridor, which historically served as a flourishing trade route and pilgrimage path to Kailash Mansarovar.
The delegation also visited the revered Old Baba Mandir, a place of great faith and emotional significance for Indian Army personnel serving in the high-altitude frontier. There, the team paid homage and offered prayers.
Later, the team descended to Tsomgo Lake, where a high-level meeting was held at the Indian Army’s conference hall. The session saw the participation of experts from Drone Tech Lab, officers of the Indian Army, and members of the Parliamentary Committee. Discussions focused on the potential of advanced drone technologies in enhancing defence capabilities and surveillance systems, showcasing a productive intersection of innovation, technology, and national security.
Reflecting on the visit, Indra Hang Subba felt that the day’s engagements offered a profound understanding of the region’s strategic importance, its cultural history, and the future prospects of defence innovation.
