Siliguri:It was really interesting to see the 8th Geetanjali Mango Festival,here starting with ceremonious dances enriching a Mango Sapling , with fertile soil and nourishing it with water.The ceremony was done by youth and VIPs.Students of the host School,sang religious songs.
The programme organised by Modella School and Care takers in collaboration with Association for Conservation and Tourism,was attended by guests from Nepal ,Bhutan and different parts of India.
Mango growers, occupying 70 stalls had Mangoes for sale with the exception of one stall only exhibiting.The fest will go on till 8th, but the results of competition among different varieties exhibited will be declared on Saturday.
