Talent Hunt for Differently Abled Persons to Be Held in Gangtok on November 9th
Gangtok, Oct. 29: A International Talent Hunt for differently abled persons from Sikkim, West Bengal, the Northeastern states, Bhutan, and Nepal will be held at Manan Kendra, Gangtok, on October 9 next month. The event aims to provide a platform for differently abled individuals to showcase their talents and boost their confidence.
Addressing a press conference in Gangtok, Pawan Parsai, President of the Organising Committee, said the programme is being organised under the banner of India Jhoom International in collaboration with the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) Social Organisation, Saarathi Organization with support from the Sikkim Cooperative Union (SICUN) and the Shantiram Foundation.
Parsai said the initiative seeks to identify and encourage hidden talents among differently abled persons across the region. “The event is not only a platform to display their skills but also an opportunity to uplift their morale and promote inclusivity in society,” he added.
According to the organisers, over 50 participants from Sikkim, 23 from West Bengal, and more than 15 from the Northeastern states have already registered for the event. In addition, two participants each from Nepal and Bhutan will also take part. More than 70 additional performers are expected to join, enhancing the scale and grandeur of the event.
The Shantiram Foundation, an international organisation operating in 131 countries, is supporting the initiative, while India Jhoom International is leading the organisation of the event.
The organising committee has appealed to the people of Sikkim to participate actively and extend their support towards differently abled persons, making the event a success.
