Guwahati, 22nd August 2026: BJP Spokesperson and Mahila Morcha In-charge, Sikkim State, Smt. Pooja Sharma, participated as an Honoured Guest at the prestigious regional training programme, “Digital Skill Development of South Asian Women Entrepreneurs on Enhancing Business Opportunities,” organised by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in an ongoing prog at Guwahati on 21–22 August 2026.
Organised by UNESCAP’s Subregional Office for South and South-West Asia (ESCAP-SSWA), the high-level programme brings together women entrepreneurs and key stakeholders from India, Bhutan and Bangladesh to strengthen digital skills, e-commerce, market access and cross-border trade.
The programme features expert sessions on digital marketing, Artificial Intelligence, e-commerce, export readiness, business planning, trade facilitation and regional market opportunities, with participation from senior representatives of UNESCAP, governments and leading business organisations.
Representing Sikkim alongside Smt. Pooja Sharma is Smt. Sushmita Sharma, a budding entrepreneur(owner of Luga-फ़ाटो) from Singtam, whose participation reflects the growing aspirations of young women entrepreneurs from Sikkim on national and international platforms.
The programme is being held in Guwahati, Assam, on 21–22 August 2026.
