Namchi:30th June: Namchi district’s enforcement status;, as of 30 June 2026, a total of 21 cases had been registered at various police stations across the district. Twenty-seven drug peddlers have been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Sikkim Anti-Drugs Act (SADA). Upto May 2026, 94 individuals affected by substance abuse had been admitted to rehabilitation centres, according to ASP.
‘ Ten drug trafficking hotspots had been identified across the district, where police patrolling is being carried out. Complaint boxes have also been installed in schools, with regular monitoring to encourage students to report drug-related concerns confidentially.’
