Kolkata Tourist Dies – Got Sick while Touring North Sikkim
Gangtok:16th Jan:A 47-year-old woman tourist from Kolkata, West Bengal, passed away after reported sudden I’ll health while on a holiday in North Sikkim.
The deceased, who was staying at a hotel in Lachung with her family, reportedly experienced vomiting and general malaise from a day before. Despite her sickness , she proceeded with a sightseeing excursion to Yumesamdong (commonly known as Zero Point), a popular high-altitude tourist spot in the region.
In the early hours of the morning, her condition worsened dramatically as she developed severe breathlessness. She was immediately rushed to the Military Assistance Post (MAP) Lachung Field Hospital for emergency medical attention. However, upon arrival, doctors declared her brought dead.
Police have registered an Unnatural Death (UD) case and initiated an investigation to determine the precise cause of death.
