Geyzing:26th Sept:A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sikkim delegation led by State President DR Thapa, accompanied by State Vice President NK Subba, General Secretary Dinesh Chandra Nepal, District President Digam Limboo, District Executives Mandal Presidents and executives, visited the landslide-affected area of Rimbi-Timrong under Yuksom-Tashiding Constituency in Geyzing District West Sikkim,today.
The delegation handed over essential relief materials to Panchayat President Mangal Rai and Tara Gurung, Incharge, Relief Collection Centre.
During the visit, the BJP team interacted with Panchayat representatives to assess damages and the ground situation. It was informed that around 30 families have been safely evacuated and are currently sheltered in the relief camp.
The delegation visited the affected areas and interacted with displaced and affected residents, listening to their concerns regarding shelter, essential supplies and other immediate requirements.
State President DR Thapa ‘ assured the affected families that the BJP Sikkim team would continue to extend all possible support and stated that a detailed report on the situation and the concerns of the affected families would be submitted to Centre, for necessary attention and assistance.’
‘The visiting team has reiterated its commitment to standing with the affected families and supporting relief and rehabilitation efforts during this difficult period,’ according to a commynique issued by the BJP Sikkim .
