
SS Women’s Cricket Team defeats Nagaland: Welcome Prog at Rangpo on 18th
Gangtok,17th Oct: Sikkim Senior Women’s Cricket Team has won the Plate Division of Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2025-26 organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This historic win marks Sikkim’s first-ever national cricket title across both men’s and women’s categories.
Sikkim remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, culminating in a 10-run victory over Nagaland in the final played in Agartala, Tripura on Friday, October 18.
Batting first after being put in by Nagaland, Sikkim posted a competitive total of 131/3 in 20 overs and later restricted Nagaland to 121/8.
The Plate Division, contested by Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim, was conducted in a single round-robin format.
Sikkim topped the league table with 16 points, winning three of the five group matches with two matches washed out due to rain. The top two teams, Sikkim and Nagaland, progressed to the final.
In recognition of this historic achievement, Sikkim Cricket Association (SICA) announces a prize purse of Rs 6 lakh in favour of the players and support staff of the victorious team.
A grand reception will be held at Rangpo on Saturday, October 18.
