Shakti Sadan& Specialised Adoption Agency ,handed over to State Govt : President ASHI
Gangtok,10th April : President Association for Social Health in India ,Sikkim Chapter Sharda Pradhan also heading Shakti Sadan met officers from Women & Child Development Deptt,here at Helipad road , today. to discuss the challenges & future of staff.She was joined by Secretary Shakti Sadan Khush Kumari Subba and Adviser Rudra Paudyal Adviser,urged for continuance of staff under Govt also as the Shakti Sadan is Centrally funded and they are all Indian citizens.President Pradhan,also asked for absorption of staff,keeping in view the economic challenges to be faced if once again unemployed.Problems of SAA were also discussed.
The officers,assured informing the Departmental authorities about the requests made.
The project Shakti Sadan has been officially taken over by the State Govt.In keeping with the Central Govt policy on 1st April 2025 ,’,said President ASHI ,Sharda Pradhan ,certain formalities were discussed today,including the accommodation,ration,staff,bank accounts etc
The handing over paper signing formalities were also completed today.
The NGO,near Helipad,has 15 members of staff.Govt has been requested for absorbing the staff as they will be now unemployed after serving for so many years.All other executive members also were present .
Shakti Sadan started by union Ministry of Women and Child Development under Mission Shakti is aimed at relief and rehabilitation of women in distress.+404 centres across India will soon be taken over by respective State Govts,while some have already taken judicial help to keep the assets created by them instead of giving out to Govt.
