Governor J D Barman Presided over Sikkim State Day celebrations at Hyderabad
Gangtok,May 17th :Golden Jubilee of Sikkim’ s Statehood was celebrated at Hydrabad Rajbhawan,with Governor of Telangana Vishnu Deb Barman ,as the Chief Guest cum host.
The residents of Sikkim ,present in Hydrabad were invited to Rajbhawan for the programme.
‘ Feeling delightful and honoured at being invited to Rajbhawan,by Governor of Telangana,’ said Ajay Thirani,one of the invitees.He recollected, ‘ Governor’s cousin use to teach us art in standard 1& 2 ( TN Academy).I was guessing it,when the Governor highlighted it in his speech.He was speaking good Nepali ,he is connected to Darjeeling and also Nepal.
Others from Gangtok,present were Bimla Daga Marda,Rekha Singhi Baid,Ritu Somani and Rajni Thirani Birla.
It is to be mentioned here that Sikkim joined the Indian Union,as the 22nd State in 1975 after a peaceful revolution,for democracy.
