Gangtok:9th Dec:Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls ,has been going on smoothly in the State.Gangtok BLOs have been mapping the Sikkim Assembly constituencies rigorously.
Councillor Gangtok Municipal Corporation Dikkie la Bhutia, said, ‘We are going through lists, and call up persons concerned over phone if their name is not in a particular list we ask them to come here. And the whole thing is checked with reference to the year 2002 Some people have their names in different booth so that is also confirmed if it is not there or is there. Dead ones if at all happen to exist their names are struck off. ‘
BLO Rinzing Dorjee Bhutia and Suren Darnal,said mapping of assembly constituencies has been going on well.It had started on 12th November 2025.’
Hissey Doma Constituency Level Organization member was also present.
It is important to mention here that Sikkim had 4.66 Lakh Voters in 2024.And the SIR is mandatory,for ‘Leaving no eligible voter left out and no ineligible included,’as the declared motto of Election Commission of India .
