BJP Sikkim:Promoting Cultural Unity through Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme
Gangtok 14th Sept.: BJP Sikkim ,organized a session on the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) on Saturday, promoting cultural unity and national integration,as disclosed today.
According to State BJP , ‘The event was attended actively by Smt. Debashree Chaudhuri, former MoS, Government of India, and Senior BJP Leader, alongside BJP Sikkim Vice President Dinesh Chandra Nepal, EBSB State Convenor Niren Bhandari with his team, party executives and representatives of various organizations. One-minute silent tribute was paid to the landslide victims of Upper Rimbi, West Sikkim.’
Addressing the gathering, Smt. Chaudhuri highlighted the nationwide initiative envisioned by PM Narendra Modi ,ensuring exchange of culture and traditions between paired states and Union Territories. She emphasized how the programme fosters mutual understanding and strengthens national integration by promoting activities like language learning, traditional art forms, cuisine exchanges, and youth interactions.
Impact of drug abuse, unchecked influx from Bangladesh, increase in crime rate, and geopolitical impact of recent developments in surrounding countries were among points of discussion.
