Gangtok,27th: Central Pendam Zilla Panchayat ,Bibek Chettri, also President ‘Run Pendam Run Committee’ joined by Marathon Man of Sikkim ,Amar Subba and Alina Lepcha Brand Ambassador, interacting with media here announced a grand event to be held in the area.’ Run Pendam Run ‘ 10 km Marathon will be organised on 8th November.It will start from famous ‘ Pendam Kothi’, and the route goes across the village,’ said Panchayat.
According to Panchayat,’ There is Unemployment and lack of healthy entertainment but Marathon will do the work.If the Sports culture is developed it will be helpful for the youth also.
Satya Pradhan,Zero Waste Duga ,informed that ‘While the Marathon takes place ,Zero Waste would be focused on .All the participants would be escorted to Pendam from Rangpo in a Bus to reduce pollution.Awareness regarding Zero waste will take place through activities focusing on use local also.
