RDD and Cooperative Department Minister Arun Upreti Visits Landslide-Affected Areas from Nam-Nam to Syari
Minister for Rural Development and Cooperation, Arun Upreti, conducted an on-site inspection of landslide-affected zones along the stretch from Nam-Nam and below Deorali to Syari Road. The visit aimed to assess the extent of damage and explore immediate mitigation measures for public safety and infrastructure restoration.
The Minister was accompanied by key officials including the Training Officer from the Disaster Management Cell, Gangtok; Additional District Magistrate, Gangtok; Secretary, Public Health Engineering (PHE); and the Assistant Engineer from the Urban Development & Housing Department (UD&HD).
During the inspection, Minister Upreti emphasized the need for coordinated and prompt action to ensure the safety of residents and to initiate early restoration work.
