Gangtpk:4th May: CM PS Tamang attended the Valedictory Ceremony of the Yoga Teacher Training Course at Manan Kendra today.
‘In this 21st century, while technology has made life more convenient, it has also contributed to increasing mental health challenges. Yoga offers a powerful path to restore balance, harmony, and well-being,’ CM said.
‘On the theme of “Yoga for Mental Health,” I extend my heartfelt greetings to everyone present. I also warmly congratulate all the trainees who have successfully completed this course and wish you continued success in your journey ahead.’
According to CM ,’The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit term “Yuj,” meaning union, the harmony of body, mind, and spirit. The International Day of Yoga, initiated by Narendra Modi, has brought global recognition to this ancient and invaluable tradition, for which sincere gratitude is expressed.’
Today, we have gathered to honor 825 trained yoga teachers from various schools across Sikkim. Let us remember that this gathering is not just about us, it is for the well-being of our students. As we return to our respective institutions, we must focus on how we can better support, empower, and guide our students, while contributing meaningfully to society.
It is our shared and historic responsibility to make Sikkim 100% literate by 2027. Together, we will strive to establish Sikkim as one of the country’s leading centers of education.
