Citizen Action Party – Sikkim Strongly Condemns Misleading News Coverage by Satya Khabar Hindi.
Gangtok 15 September 2025: The Citizen Action Party – Sikkim strongly and unequivocally condemns the irresponsible and misleading news coverage published by Satya Khabar Hindi on its official Facebook page dated 13th September 2025, with the caption:
“नेपाल में लगे वन्दे मातरम और भारत माता की जय के नारे”
The news coverage refers to the Tiranga Yatra held in Gangtok, Sikkim, which was a patriotic march attended by the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, along with Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, and other dignitaries, celebrating India’s national pride and unity.
Shockingly, the video associated with this coverage has garnered more than 1.6 million views, over 5,000 shares, and around 1.2 thousand comments, spreading this false and damaging narrative to a vast audience.
The Citizen Action Party – Sikkim demands the immediate removal of this video from all platforms. Furthermore, we strongly urge Satya Khabar Hindi and all media outlets to exercise extreme diligence and fact-check all sensitive information before publication, particularly when reporting on matters concerning national integrity and state identity.
This blatant misrepresentation of Sikkim as part of Nepal is not only factually incorrect but is also a deeply hurtful act that has severely impacted the general sentiments of the people of Sikkim. It undermines the pride, sovereignty, and constitutional status of our state as an integral part of the Republic of India.
The Citizen Action Party – Sikkim calls upon Satya Khabar Hindi to issue an immediate and unconditional public apology to the people of Sikkim for this irresponsible act. We reaffirm our firm stand against any form of misinformation or propaganda aimed at destabilizing national unity or misleading the public.
Sikkim’s identity, dignity, and sovereignty must be respected and preserved at all costs. The party remains committed to upholding these principles and urges the media to report responsibly, factually, and ethically,as per the press release issued by Bhusan Adhikari ,Vice President (Political Affairs) Citizen Action Party – Sikkim .
