Minister GT Dhungel suggests Bibliotherapy for Children -Youth
Gangtok,19th June :Chief Guest , Minister for Health& Family Welfare and Culture,GT Dhungel ,addressed the gathering of intellectuals at the programme organised by Sikkim Akademy,here today.
The award cum book release programme at Chintan Bhawan,saw 10 Books- released,by the Chief Guest Dhungel joined by the Guest of Honour Padamshree Sano Lama.Young Artist,Sabin Rai was awarded for his art-paintings
He was presented a memento,citation ,stole and a sum of 1 Lakh 10 Thousand by the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering ,Minister Dhungel introduced the idea of Bibliotherapy-the Healing Power of Reading. He said by involving young ones /children in reading writing ,the healing would take place,they will be kept away from negativity.We should be able to differentiate between right from wrong.
Minister ,urged the writers and artists to focus on contemporary issues,particularly those problems related to Children/Youth. Main problem presently is mental issues.He was pleased to share that presently ,our culture is being preserved under the CM PS Tamang ,due to his initiative our Artists have been reaching International level and have been awarded.Our Culture has to be preserved.
Earlier SR Subba,President Sikkim Akademy welcomed the guests and Purna Yonjon General Secretary delivered an introductory speech.
