Gangtok:4th July: CM PS Tamang presided over a coordination meeting at Samman Bhawan to review preparations for the upcoming 2nd Aama Samman Diwas, to be observed on the occasion of the 9th Jan Unmukti Diwas.
The flagship programme to be celebrated on a grand scale has been shifted from Namchi to Rangpo Playground, as a tribute to mothers whose sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering dedication have shaped families and society.
CM Tamang, is pleased to announce the introduction of two new awards under the Aama Samman initiative. The Aama Samman Puraskar will honour one deserving Aama from each constituency with a cash award of ₹51,000. The recipients of this award will be selected from among mothers who are not beneficiaries of the Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana.
2nd new award is ‘the Pragatisheel Aama Puraskar. It will recognise three exemplary Aamas who have made extraordinary and inspiring use of the financial assistance received under the Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana. They will receive cash awards of ₹5 lakh, ₹3 lakh, and ₹2 lakh respectively.’
CM, has urged all Cabinet colleagues,
MLAs, Political Secretaries, Additional Political Secretaries, Press Secretary, Legal Consultant, OSDs, the SKM Youth Wing President, CLCs and all ‘Karyakartas to work in close coordination and with a shared sense of purpose to ensure the successful organisation of this landmark programme.’
‘Stressed that the selection of beneficiaries and award recipients must be carried out with utmost fairness, transparency, and impartiality,’ said CM Tamang.
According to CM, ‘the programme is a humble expression of gratitude to the Aamas of Sikkim, who have dedicated their lives with selfless love and sacrifice to their families and society.’
