Gangtok:2nd Oct: Sikkim joined rest of the country celebrating 157th birth anniversary of 5he Father of Nation, Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi.Popular as the Mahatma, he practiced and preached non-violence.
In Gangtok Governor OP Mathur joined by Chief Minister PS Tamang paid floral tributes at the bust size statue at Mahatma Gandhi marh, here. They were followed by certain Cabinet ministers and officials of Urban Development & RDD.
Governor,CM,Minister UD& HD Minister Bhoj Raj Rai,Minister RDD Arun Upreti gave away awards to the Safai Karmchari (s),Self Help Groups , best urban local bodies. Gangtok GMC also got awarded.
