Gangtok to Siliguri in 90 minutes Instead of Present 4-5 hours with Proposed Road: Minister Dahal

Gangtok :18th Sept:’ Work on roads is being done, tenders floated, work orders issued , sanctioned amount is there , after monsoon it will be starting’said Minister for Roads & Bridges NB Dahal.He was accompanied by Adviser to R&B deptt, MLA Erung Tshering .
Mnister was optimistic that reduction in Travelling time to Gangtok from Siliguri would be possible once the proposed new road is laid out by National Highway .NHDICL will make road
from Sevoke to Melli and from there to Singtam . Travel time will be only One and a half hours .
‘Rangpo to Ranipool double lane road is under tendering process,Rorathang to Rangpo,Ranipool to Burtuk via Ranka.Makha to Dikchu is to be completed by March ,State will be paying the cost of it.
Road connecting West to Darjeeling will be there. Aadampool to Sichey tendered and work order done. From Aadampool to Jhankri Falls, under process as the drainage and culverts have to be properly done. Workorders issued and Carpeting in place.

For sustainability Matic Asphalt technoly will be used for 570 kms of roads in Sikkim, according to Minister.

Minister Dahal ,wondered how the Roads & Bridges works were criticised while the construction sanction and workorders are in process by certain facebook opposers ,who dont have a single representative in the legislative assembly.He asserted that the work is constantly on and he is serious with his Deptt for it.
