Gangtok:28th July:Indo China border trade via Nathula pass is scheduled to resume from 1st August’26. It had stopped die to Pandemic and other reasons .The State Govt has a mart for the purpose at Sherathang. The security is provided by ITBP . According to authorities this time this time the ITBP will be provided Female Unit also.
38 Traders have obtained permits for trading from District Collector Gangtok .More are expected.Earlier ,trade was carried out from May to November,weather permitting, and 4 days a week ,but this year it is starting now.
The Traders in Sherathang usually arrive in Trucks with their goods and sell out with the help of calculators.And Traders from this side go to TAR ,across China border and purchase also.The list of export and import items is sanctioned by Govt.
It is anticipated to be a positive step for upgrading the economy on either side.
