Gangtok:16th June: Three day long programme at MG Marg for the area condicted by Gangtok Municipal Corporation has culminated here today .It was organised in keeping with the Chief Minister ,PS Tamang’s vision bringing public services closer to every citizen.
Gangtok Municipal Corporation, in an effort to bring Governance at Doorsteps , dealt with matters related to Sanitation and Solid Waste Management, Town Planning , License and Accounts mainly.
Assistant Town Planner, Sangay Chopel, explained to people about blueprints . He emphasized on construction as per blue print without deviation. According to the ATP Sangay Chopel,
‘Knowing about stability of land where the construction is proposed is sognificant. Besides not more than 5 and a half storied buildings are advisable.’In this way queries were all responded to.
Solid Waste Management section,was happy to inform about something ‘new’ ‘ GMC employed persons coming to houses (not on the roadside)to pick up waste/ garbage.Any issues ,even those related to garbage Van/Tata coming / if anything about timing was noted for follow up and andwered.
Those wanting renewal of licences and any other related issue were happy to get things done Anyone having overpaid was helped with refund,by the accounts section.
It has been informed that such camps would be held in all the Six constituencies here ,in association with the concerned MLAs.
GMC ‘s initiative to bring administration out of office of redress grievances without queues was really helpful and is expected to contribute towards realizing CM ‘ vision of Governance ay Doorsteps.
