Gangtok:29th May: CM PS Tamang, Chaired a meeting on Forest, Environment, and Wildlife Clearances, followed by the Governing Body meeting of the State Authority CAMPA. The meetings focused on expediting the clearance process to ensure greater convenience for the public while maintaining ecological balance and sustainable development.
During the meeting ,several important strategies were discussed to strengthen environmental conservation and wildlife protection measures across the state. Chief Minister urged the forest officials present to maintain complete transparency, enhance coordination among departments, and carry forward all forest-related initiatives in a more efficient and people-centric manner.
A comprehensive roadmap was also proposed for the effective implementation of decisions related to wildlife clearances and environmental governance. It was collectively decided to appoint nodal officers in each department to streamline communication, improve coordination, and facilitate quicker resolution of public concerns related to forest and environmental matters.
In addition, special emphasis was laid on undertaking large-scale plantation drives, particularly around water sources and ecologically sensitive areas, to strengthen environmental sustainability, improve green cover, and conserve natural resources for future generations. The meeting reflected collective commitment of the participants towards balancing development with environmental protection and ensuring a transparent, efficient, and sustainable governance framework.
