Gangtok:27th May: President of India and Visitor Sikkim University ,Droupdi Murmu , gave away Gold medals ,during 7th Convocation of Sikkim University ( for 2023-24-25),in Manan Kendra, here today . She also presented PhD degree to Indra Hang Subba member Lok Sabha. Also present were, Governoe OP Mathur -±Rector SU, Chief Minister PS Tamang, Education Minister R Basnet and other members of Cabinet.
President , gave away 6 medals ,that is 1 to a PhD and 5 Post Graduates, besides 3 Graduates . Graduates were from NB B Govt College Gangtok and Namchi Govt College. These medals for Gold medalists were given in Maths, Hindi, Botany, History , Mass Communication, Psychology.
While Graduates ( Honours) were given Gold Medals in Economics and Psychology.
President was presented a memento as well as other guests.
Earlier,VC welcomed the guests.And congratulated all the 127/ 285 medalists including gold medalists .
