Gangtok:1st May: CM PS Tamang expressed happiness at the State beong declared paperless as far as the judiciary here is concerened.
‘It is a matter of great pride that Sikkim has been declared a paperless judiciary, a historic step towards building a faster, transparent, and technology-driven justice system. This achievement reflects our strong commitment to innovation and good governance,’said CM Tamang.
Sikkim CM attended the Conclave on Technology and Judicial Education here at Chintan Bhawan today, in the presence of Chief Justice of India, Surya Kant Ji, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Seychelles, Rony James Govinden, Justice Supreme Court of India and former Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court Shri Jitendra Kumar Maheswari Ji, Judge Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, Shri Mohammad Dhilip Nawaz Abdul Hameed Ji, Chief Justices and Judges of High Courts across the country and other distinguished dignitaries.
According to CM. their ‘ visit reflects a deep commitment to strengthening our judicial system and brings valuable national and international attention to Sikkim.This occasion is even more special as Sikkim celebrates 50 years of Statehood, recently graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi .
‘At a time when technology is rapidly transforming the world, its integration into the justice system is essential. Initiatives like e-filing and digital case management will make justice delivery more efficient, accessible, and inclusive,’ CM said.
‘As India progresses towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, a strong, technology-driven judiciary will play a vital role in ensuring fairness, fostering trust, and supporting sustainable development.’
CM expressed confidence that ‘the deliberations during the conclave will contribute to building a modern judiciary, not only for India but across the Commonwealth.’
CM welcomed all distinguished guests and wished the conclave great success.
The conclave is scheduled to culminate on 3rd May’26.
