Gangtok 8th March: International Women’s Day , was marked by Sports mostly in all the Six Districts of Sikkim, on Sunday.
CM PS Tamang flagged off Ultra Marathon from Ganeshtok. It was encouraging and emoowering for the participants of all the categories including , 5,10,21,42 and 72.
According to CM, participation and enthusiasm of the runners was impressive.It reflected a’ strong spirit of endurance and a shared commitment to health,fitness and an active lifestyle.’
One of the participants Anushka said ‘It was satisfying to complete 10 kms race .I could check my stamina also confidence. ‘Tsongmo . 5.0 ultra marathon has a good style.Hope they continue it .
Other Sports event in the Distt was held at Reshithang. Organised by My Bharat and Sports & Youth Deptt Govt of Sikkim as a micro event under ASMITA league ,it had Sndhya Gurung Dronacharya awardee as the Chief Guest.
All other districts also saw My Bharat micro events,while Pelling an apirant district saw Mega event, including 100, 200 ,300 meyers race and Yoga sessions.
