Gangtok 25th Jan: Sikkim Krantikari Morcha attended the 16th National Voters’ Day,graced by the President Droupadi Murmu. The programme organised by the Election Commission of India at Zorawar Auditorium, Manekshaw Centre, New DelhiThe party was represented by Pawan Gurung, General Secretary (HQ) and Bikash Basnet, Spokesperson.
Other dignitaries included Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Law & Justice and Gyanesh Kumar, Chief Election Commissioner of India.
On the occasion, the pivotal role of the Election Commission of India in safeguarding India’s democratic framework through free, fair, inclusive and transparent elections was highlighted. The Commission’s continuous initiatives in voter education, electoral reforms and ethical participation were acknowledged as key pillars in strengthening public trust in the electoral process.
The 16th National Voters’ Day 2026 was observed with the theme “My India, My Vote – Main Bharat Hoon”, reinforcing the message that every vote counts and every citizen plays a vital role in nation-building and democratic empowerment.
