
Gangtok:5th Oct: CM PS Tamang has extended a message on the Birth Anniversary of Late NB Bhandari ex CM,with historical details.He has said, ‘On this auspicious occasion of the birthday of late Nar Bahadur Bhandari, second Chief Minister and great popular leader of Sikkim, remembering him with devotion, on behalf of the Sikkim government and the entire Sikkimeli community as well as my family and personal.’
Respected Bhandari, born in Malbase, Sorang, West Sikkim, completely dedicated to public service after starting his life from teaching profession. After being elected Chief Minister of Sikkim for the first time in 1979, handling the rebellion of the state for 14 consecutive years, he gave Sikkim remarkable achievements in education, health, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and rural development based on political stability.’
‘His highest historic contribution is to get
the Nepali language included, in the eighth schedule of the Indian Constitution, which has made the entire Indian Nepali language community proud. Also, he laid the foundation of equality and justice in society ensuring the rights of farmers, laborers, teachers, staff and deprived class.’
Late Bhandari ,was not only the image of Sikkim but also of the pride of the entire Indian Nepali society. His ideals, determination and loyalty to public service will remain an eternal source of inspiration to us’.
