
BJP Sikkim Mahila Morcha organised a workshop on the upcoming event of the 300th Birth Anniversary of Rani Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar Ji at the State office, Singtam today.
The workshop was graced by State President DR Thapa in presence of Vice President Dinesh Chandra Nepal, State Mahila Morcha General Secretary Srijana Chettri, Vice President Tara Subba, State Councillor Vindhya Cintury alongside party executives and Karyakartas.
The event featured an insightful deliberation on the history of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar by State Executive Pooja Sharma . She eloquently highlighted Rani Ahilyabai Holkar’s remarkable contributions to society, emphasizing her role as a visionary ruler who championed social reforms, women’s empowerment, and equitable governance. State Executive ,Sharma detailed how Rani Ahilyabai, an 18th-century Maratha queen, transformed Malwa into a prosperous region by promoting trade, agriculture, and infrastructure development. She also underscored Rani Ahilyabai’s dedication to justice, her establishment of educational and religious institutions, and her efforts in rebuilding temples and public works, earning her enduring reverence as a beacon of progressive leadership and compassion.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has initiated a nationwide celebration of the 300th Birth Anniversary of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar this year( on 31st May, 2025), according to BJP Sikkim State.
