B2B Meet and Familiarization Tour Successfully Held as Part of Discover Rabong, Cho-Dzo Fest 20
The Ravangla Tourism Development Committee (RTDC), in association with the Tourism & Civil Aviation Department, Government of Sikkim, successfully organized a B2B Meet cum Familiarization (FAM) Tour on April 13, 2025, as part of the ongoing Discover Rabong – 8th Cho Dzo Festival 2025.
MLA , 09-Barfung also Patron of the Organising Committee Cho Dzo Festival 2025, Riksal Dorjee Bhutia, attended as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering,MLA emphasized the vision of the Chief Minister of Sikkim P.S. Tamang (Goley) to develop Rabong into a premier tourist destination. He highlighted that Rabong possesses all the essential elements—natural beauty, cultural richness, and infrastructure potential—to cater to a wide range of tourists. With focused development and promotion, Rabong is poised to emerge as a significant hub in Sikkim’s tourism landscape.
The event was attended by Dy Director (Adventure) Tourism & Civil Aviation Department, Government of Sikkim along with Senior Officials from the department, esteemed delegates from the Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO), Eastern Himalayan Travel & Tour Operators Association (EHTTOA), and Himalayan Hospitality & Tourism Development Network (HHTDN). And among others were prominent Tourism Association and Stakeholders from Sikkim.
The B2B meet served as a dynamic platform for interaction between tourism professionals, fostering new collaborations and business opportunities. The delegates embarked on a familiarization tour, exploring the diverse sightseeing attractions in and around Rabong. The scenic beauty, cultural richness, and untapped tourism potential of Rabong left a lasting impression on all participants.
A significant outcome of this initiative was the assurance extended by various tourism stakeholders and invited delegates to include Rabong as a key halt in their travel itineraries moving forward. Notably, ABTO has also expressed strong interest in organizing the prestigious International Buddhist Travel Mart (IBTM) in Rabong in the near future, signalling a major boost to the region’s tourism prospects.
