‘ Pension not Position ‘ for Retired employees initiated by CAP in
Gangtok,from 12th April.Youth Council ,Citizen Action Party ,has launched a campaign to stop re -employment of once retired Govt servants.A group consisting of Youth leaders of CAP ,interacting with media in here today said ‘ those who are on extension/ re – employed should come forward themselves and give up their posts,’ said Tika Ram Nepal,in his introductory address.
The Pension not Position Campaign has been launched against all those out of +100 re-employed ,who are serving. ‘ Certain officers on re- employment resigned after our party Prez Ganesh Kumar Rai objected to extension of service to Pensioners in his public speech .Others should also follow.Otherwise ,we will visit the concerned offices campaigning against extension of service to already retired and will be discussing also,’ said Albert Gurung.
According to CAP re- employment of pensioners has been causing injustice to stagnating employees waiting for promotion ,while those on Muster Roll & Adhoc basis missing regularisation.
Gurung a budding politician,claimed that ‘at least 1000 employees would possibly be affected as when case of one promotion at the top leads to chain reaction for all those down below’.
‘ We want the re-employed to quit in the interest of State and unemployed youth.We have been getting messages from youth about not being paid salary ,while re-employed have drawn all their retirement dues and drawing pay again.’
Gurung also reminded ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha party,their protest March,against re-employment ,to Raj Bhawan ,led by Kunga Nima Lepcha while in opposition.And they promised getting rid of the policy in their 2019 Election Manifesto also’.But now ?.
