PM Announces Ex-Gratia for Victims of Samardung Tunnel Tragedy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep anguish over the loss of lives in the collapse of an under-construction tunnel in Namchi District of Sikkim, and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.

The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of each deceased, while ₹50,000 will be provided to each injured person.
