
Gangtok: 18th Oct: Smt. Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, attended a special program on Aatmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan held at BJP City Office, Amdo Golai, Gangtok on Thursday. The event focused on the themes of Made in India and Vocal for Local, in alignment with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India.
During her address, Smt. Bambhaniya emphasized the importance of promoting indigenous products and local entrepreneurship. She highlighted India’s growing capabilities in manufacturing and innovation, citing examples such as the indigenously developed aircraft Tejas, which reflects the strength of the Make in India initiative.
State BJP President Dr. D.R. Thapa also addressed the gathering, underscoring the significance of Make in India in boosting Sikkim’s economic potential. He drew attention to the ongoing challenges related to NH-10, the state’s crucial lifeline, and requested the Hon’ble Minister to take up the matter at the central level in Delhi. DR Thapa noted that disruptions on NH-10 severely affect tourism, hotel businesses, public convenience, and lead to price hikes due to longer travel.
The event reaffirmed the party’s commitment to advancing Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a self-reliant and empowered India, while also addressing the state’s key developmental concerns,as per Publicity Wing, BJP Sikkim .
