Gangtok, 11th Dec: The recent recruitment of Officer On Special Duty against a post created in Sikkim University , has raised concerns. As the new incumbent was allegedly involved in financial irregularities in Tezpur University. Dr Braja Bandhu Mishra, has been selected out of 4 applicants by the recruitment board, according to University authorities As the recruitment has been questioned by Students and non-Teaching staff , the University administration has stopped further process of joining.
Consequent upon ‘serious allegations raised and for the best interest of the University, the administration has decided to write to Tezpur University, seeking an official statement on the matter. ‘The University authorities have sought official statement on the matter requesting them to confirm if any case is pending or contemplated against Dr B B Mishra.University administration has decided to put his joining in abeyance till the response from Tezpur is received.Here its to be mentioned that Sikkim State BJP also visited University earlier and demanded transparency and expressed apprehension of nepotism in recruitment.
