A big relief for Dog lovers : Supreme Court allows releasing stray dogs to their original place after Vaccination
Gangtok,22nd August : Not that many stray dogs were visible on the main road here today,none to chase or bark ,anyhow Supreme Court’s directions on 11th August seem to have made some difference.
The revised decision today is a bit different as it allows Vaccinating,deworming and sterlisation of street dogs followed by releasing them to their original place.
Then the best part is adoption is also permitted subject to application to Municipal Corporation and approval by them.
Feeding of street dogs can’t be done everywhere and just anywhere but in a fixed/ designated place.
However ,Dogs having rabbis and aggressive will have to be relocated ( avoiding risk to pedestrians).
So much for Stray Dogs v/s risk to human beings.
