Cologne, Germany, 4th-8th October 2025.To strengthen and expand India’s global spice trade, the Spices Board of India is participating at Anuga 2025, one of the world’s leading food and beverage trade fairs. India currently exports spices and spice products to over 200 destinations worldwide, and the top ten markets—China, USA, UAE, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, UK, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Germany—collectively account for over 60% of India’s total spice export earnings during FY25 (up to February 2025).
Recognising “Germany’s pivotal role” as a high-value market for Indian spices, the Spices Board’s presence at Anuga 2025 underscores its commitment to maintaining vibrant trade channels and building new business partnerships. The event provides an ideal platform for global networking and offers deep insights into the latest “innovation trends shaping the global food industry, including plant-based diversity, personalised nutrition, clean labels, sustainability, and the growing relevance of private labels in driving innovation.
The Spices Board ,and National Turmeric Board pavilion manned by Shri P.T. Lepcha, Deputy Director, Spices Board, received a good response on its opening day, drawing visitors with diverse queries ranging from spice varieties to supply chain mechanisms and sourcing opportunities.
The pavilion was inaugurated by Ms. Shuchita Kishore, Consul General, Frankfurt, in the esteemed presence of Mr. Avinash Joshi, Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India, and other dignitaries including Mr. D. Praveen, Joint Secretary, MoFPI; Mr. Arunava Sengupta, Deputy Secretary, MoFPI; Mr. Gaurav Sishodia, Vice President, Invest India; and representatives from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).
Through its active participation at Anuga 2025, the Spices Board of India reaffirms its mission to promote the superior quality, diversity, and sustainability of Indian spices, while strengthening India’s position as a global leader in the spices trade.
