- I extend my heartiest greetings to the people of Sikkim on the sacred occasion of Drukpa Tshe-zi. This festival marks Lord Buddha’s first sermon after attaining enlightenment, where he shared the Four Noble Truths with the world.
May these eternal truths continue to guide and enlighten us all on the path of unity, communal harmony, peace, and prosperity.
Drukpa Tshe-zi, observed on the fourth day of the sixth lunar month of the Tibetan calendar, is also known as the occasion when the Wheel of Dharma was first set in motion. It is a time to reflect on purity, wisdom, and compassion.
As this festival embodies the spirit of goodness, I hope that this same spirit spreads throughout our society and strengthens the bonds of unity and kindness among the Sikkimese people.
May the teachings and sermons of Lord Buddha continue to illuminate our lives and guide our thoughts and actions. I believe the middle path shown by Lord Buddha will continue to shape our collective destiny for eternity.ª
